First, help them sit upright to ease breathing and loosen any tight clothing. Call emergency services right away. Encourage the person to stay calm and avoid exertion. If they have prescribed medication, like nitroglycerin, help them take it as directed. Monitor their condition while waiting for medical help, and be prepared to perform CPR if they lose consciousness.
